How to make the most of counseling
- Make sure to attend the counseling session – try not to miss it even if you are feeling better than when you made the appointment.
- Be on time so you can avail the full length of the counseling session.
- Between sessions, reflect on issues or concerns you would like to talk about or work on. You can even write them down so that you don't forget to bring them up in the session.
- Try to use the techniques and skills you learn in counseling sessions – sometimes it takes a few attempts before you may notice a difference.
- No matter how small you think the problem may be, counseling can still be helpful. Don't hesitate to make an appointment or to come during the walk-in hours.
