Individual Counseling
Student Counseling at the IBA provides short-term, solution-oriented counseling services. Counseling is more a facilitative process than directive. It is not the Counselor's place to give advice or direction, rather it is to help individuals explore solutions to their problems and become more self-aware.
For more complex issues or those that require long-term counseling, a higher level of care, and frequent sessions, students are provided with professional referral outside the IBA.
All information is kept strictly confidential except in cases where the Counselor believes the student may hurt themselves or another person. In case of potential endangerment to self or others, proper persons will be alerted and notified of the risk.
Each individual counseling session is 45 minutes long.
